Differentiation Strategies

Lesson Differentiation Strategies

  • Sentence frames are provided for ELLs to develop fluency.​

  • Visuals will be implemented into every lesson.

  • Manipulatives will be available to all students during math.

  • Connections to create meaning, visualization, and understanding.

  • Journal prompts to encourage higher level thinking will be made available for enrichment.

  • Think-Pair-Share is a widely used strategy for discussions.

  • Jigsaw is used for new information and to review information.

Assessment Differentiation Strategies

  • Group Projects are used as a summative assessment

  • Kahoot, Blooket, and Quizizz can be implemented before, during, or post assessment.

  • Mind Maps can be simplified for ELLs by providing them with an outline. It can also be altered to challenge students by changing directions.

  • Reflective Journals to encourage students to reflect on what they have learned.

  • White Boards will be used to check for understanding. This allows me to see who gets it and who needs more support.

  • Padlet can be implemented as pre-, before, and post assessment.

  • Exit Tickets to are used to gain an insight into student understanding and skill ability.
